I’ve spent most of today playing with our new church website. I must say that I thought I knew a bit about this sort of thing, but, as my new friend Nick at CorData will tell you, OBVIOUSLY I DON’T!
He spent about an hour with me at the church today, and he showed me all kinds of bells and whistles that the website’s back office interface has. I watched him demo everything, and, honestly, it all made sense at the time! But, when I got home, it was different story. I couldn’t believe how many mistakes I made. But, being the consummate professional that Nick is, he fixed all my boo-boos and made me look better than I really am.
That got me thinking. That’s what God did for us. He gave us the instructions (The Bible), but we were so headstrong that we tried it our way (Adam’s fall), and we messed it up. Then, he sent an expert(Jesus) to ‘fix’ our pitiful situation by dying on the cross for our sins.
That realization makes me glad to know that I’ve got Nick to help with little ole website bugs, but way more important than that, I have King Jesus on my case when I make mistakes in my life that I just can’t seem to clear up on my own.
And another thing… There may come a time when Nick can’t answer my calls as fast as I think he should, but Jesus… He’s only one prayer away!
